Landscape Architecture

I'd like to have the boys attempt #5 of the requirements which is to identify 5 trees, 5 shrubs and a groundcover.  I will cover this on Saturday and it will be difficult for the boys to do this on their own considering many plants have no leaves on them, but I'd like for them to make an attempt since most of our snow is gone.  They can focus primarily on evergreens if they like.

If the boys have access to a digital camera and can bring it, that will be helpful as well.

Scouts should visit www.masla.org

(MN Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects) to find out more about the profession in relation to education requirements, the spectrum of projects LA's work on; featured films, and view one of the publications put out by MASLA.

Review & be familiar with the MB Pamphlet.  Come prepared for weather as there will be an outside walking visit to a local project designed by a LA.

Participants should bring the following:  pencil, eraser, 90' triangle for drawing (available at art supply stores; Hobby Lobby, etc), Architect's scale with 1/8" = 1' 0"(also available at art supply stores) ; Minimum 25' tape measure; Circle template (available at are supply stores)
